Independent firms that
survey homes.
SurveyChoice is for surveying firms regulated by RICS that carry out RICS Level 2 Home Surveys, Level 3 Building Surveys, or both, and want more residential work in the areas they already cover.
Clients book a named practice, never an individual surveyor. Your practice is the supplier: the client’s contract is with your practice, on your own terms of engagement, which the client accepts before paying. Your practice assigns a suitably qualified surveyor and names them in the report.
SurveyChoice handles
- Marketing to homebuyers and quoting at fixed prices
- Showing your practice and your terms, and recording the client’s acceptance
- Checkout, with payment going to your practice’s Stripe account
- Keeping the client informed by email at each stage
- Checking your certificates and reminding you before they expire
Your practice
- Accepts each new instruction in the practice workspace
- Arranges access and the inspection appointment
- Carries out the inspection and records the outcome
- Delivers the report through the workspace
- Answers the client’s questions about the report

Each step in detail, with typical times →
- Prices are fixed
- SurveyChoice sets the prices from a published rate card with area adjustments. They are the same for every practice. Listed, thatched and non-standard properties go to a manual quote.
- Clients pay your practice directly
- The client pays through SurveyChoice’s Stripe checkout straight into your practice’s own Stripe account, which pays out to your bank.
- The platform fee is deducted at payment
- SurveyChoice’s platform fee is taken automatically from each payment. It is set out in your commercial terms, which you see and confirm before you go live.
- You pay your own Stripe fees
- Stripe’s processing fees are charged to your Stripe account, and you respond to any card dispute from your own Stripe Dashboard. Refunds can be made there or by us on your behalf.
STRAIGHT ANSWERS
Before you ask.
01Can we set our own prices?+
No. SurveyChoice sets one fixed price list, the same for every practice, so a client sees the same price whichever practice covers their property. Prices are set by survey level, purchase-price band, property type and size, with area adjustments. Listed, thatched and non-standard properties go to a manual quote instead.
02Do we need to be regulated by RICS?+
Yes. Every practice on SurveyChoice is a firm regulated by RICS, with in-date professional indemnity insurance. We check both certificates before you go live and whenever they are renewed.
03Who is the client’s contract with?+
With your practice. Clients accept your practice’s terms of engagement before they pay, and the fee is paid to your practice. SurveyChoice arranges the booking; your practice provides the survey and the professional advice.
04Do clients choose an individual surveyor?+
No. Clients book your practice, not a named surveyor. Your practice assigns a suitably qualified surveyor to each instruction and names them in the report.
05Can several of our surveyors work on it?+
Yes. Invite your surveyors and administrators from the Team page and each person gets their own login. Coordinators manage access; team members work on the instructions they are given.
06How long does it take to go live?+
It depends mostly on how quickly your certificates are checked and your Stripe account is verified. Each step on your side takes minutes; the welcome guide gives a typical time for each.
07What happens when our insurance renews?+
Upload the new certificate on the Compliance page of your workspace. We check it and keep your practice live. We email a reminder 30 days before a certificate expires.
08Can other practices cover the same area?+
Yes. Several practices can cover a postcode district, and SurveyChoice may make one of them the preferred practice there.
09What does SurveyChoice charge?+
A platform fee is deducted automatically from each payment. The fee is set out in your commercial terms, which you see and confirm before you go live. There is no charge to apply.
