These terms cover use of the SurveyChoice website and the online booking step. The detailed scope and terms of engagement for a survey are confirmed before the inspection.
Who you are dealing with
SurveyChoice is a trading name of Logos Group Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17422831, whose registered office is 60 The Beacon, Stile Common Road, Huddersfield, HD4 6DE. Logos Group Ltd operates this website and is the party you contract with for the quoting, matching and booking service. References to “we” and “us” in these terms mean Logos Group Ltd.
About SurveyChoice
SurveyChoice is a quoting, matching and booking tool providing fixed-price access to Level 2 home and Level 3 building survey instructions within its live coverage area. SurveyChoice itself is not a chartered or regulated professional.
The supplying practice
Every practice SurveyChoice quotes must hold RICS firm registration and in-date professional indemnity insurance, and SurveyChoice checks both. When you proceed, the practice responsible for the inspection and report is named, with its checked credentials, before the instruction is completed. The practice’s RICS surveyor carries out the inspection. The practice’s regulatory position, insurance and delivery terms belong to that practice and are shown separately from the SurveyChoice platform. If a practice cannot take your instruction, SurveyChoice may pass it to another practice.
Prices and property information
Prices are the total amount payable and are calculated from the property information supplied. A quote is held for 14 days from the day it is shown, and for a further 14 days from the day you accept the practice’s Terms of Engagement, so the price does not lapse while the practice reviews your instruction. If material information is incorrect or the property falls outside the stated assumptions, we will explain any necessary scope or price change before proceeding. We will not charge a different figure without agreement.
Booking and payment
When you continue from the booking form, SurveyChoice saves the request and gives you a private return link. A booking remains a request for an instruction until payment is accepted, where payment is enabled, and the practice confirms capacity and access. Your payment is made to the practice supplying your survey, which is the seller of the survey service. It is taken by card through SurveyChoice’s secure checkout, operated by Stripe, and your card statement shows the practice’s name. The practice pays SurveyChoice a fee for the booking service out of that payment; it does not change the price you pay. You must be authorised to use the payment method, provide accurate contact and property information, and keep the private booking link secure.
Survey scope
The inspection is visual and non-invasive unless additional work is expressly agreed. Concealed areas, inaccessible parts and services that require specialist testing fall outside a standard home survey. The final terms of engagement explain the precise scope, limitations, report use and professional responsibility.
Your right to cancel
Because you book online without meeting us, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason. Two contracts are involved, and each has its own 14-day period:
- The SurveyChoice booking service (this contract with Logos Group Ltd). Your 14 days start the day after you complete the booking form.
- The survey itself, supplied by the named practice under its Terms of Engagement, which you accept before payment. That contract forms when the practice accepts your instruction, and its 14 days start the day after that acceptance.
To cancel either, tell us before the 14 days are up — the contact form is the quickest route, and the cancellation form at the end of these terms may be used but is not compulsory. Any clear statement that you wish to cancel is enough. A cancellation notice given to SurveyChoice is passed to the practice promptly and counts as notice to the practice.
Starting the survey inside the 14 days
The practice will not carry out the inspection inside its 14-day cancellation period unless you expressly ask it to. That request is a separate, optional tick box on the Terms of Engagement page; it is never assumed from your booking. If you make the request, you acknowledge two consequences:
- If you cancel after the practice has begun but before the report is issued, you may be charged a proportionate amount for what has already been carried out — including the inspection itself if it has taken place.
- Once the service is fully performed — that is, once your report has been issued — the right to cancel is lost, and no refund is due under this right.
If you leave the box unticked, the earliest inspection date is after the 14 days have ended, and you may cancel at any point before then for a full refund.
Refunds
Where a refund is due, it is paid to the card used for payment within 14 days of us being told you wish to cancel, less any proportionate charge described above. The refund comes from the practice you paid; SurveyChoice arranges it with the practice, so you only need to tell us. Cancelling does not affect your separate legal rights if the service falls short of reasonable care and skill.
