20-SECOND SCOPE CHECKER

Let the home
choose the depth.

Answer three questions. SurveyChoice recommends the lightest survey scope that can reasonably answer the property.

GUIDANCE / This checker is a starting point, not professional advice about a property we have not seen. You can choose either level at quote stage.

WHY THE QUESTIONS MATTER

Age, alteration and condition change the useful depth.

A Level 2 Home Survey is commonly suited to a conventional home in reasonable condition. A Level 3 Building Survey provides more detail for older, altered, unusual or visibly defective properties.

The result is guidance rather than a restriction: compare the complete scopes in House surveys explained, or see all six types of house survey, then choose the level you want when you request a price.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Before you ask.

01Should I get a Level 2 or Level 3 survey?+

Level 2 is commonly suited to a conventional home in reasonable condition. Level 3 is usually more appropriate for an older, altered, unusual or visibly defective property.

02Is a Level 3 survey always better?+

No. It is more detailed, not automatically better value. The right scope is the one that answers the questions the particular property raises.

03Can I choose a different level after using the checker?+

Yes. The checker gives guidance, not a binding instruction. You can review both scopes and choose your preferred level when requesting a price.
